Consultation On your first visit to Schomaker Chiropractic you will be welcomed as a
new member of our practice and as always we will greet you with a warm smile.
You will then be asked to fill out our required forms which
will help us gain some information about yourself and your condition.
Dr. Troy Schomaker will then sit down with you personally to discuss your condition and ask you some specific questions regarding
your condition to determine if chiropractic care may be of benefit to you.
If Dr. Schomaker feels he can help you, he will let you know. If Dr. Schomaker determines that you are not likely to benefit from chiropractic care, he will thoroughly discuss this with you and then recommend other avenues of treatment that may be more effective for you. Should this be the case, Dr. Schomaker will also give you any necessary referrals that may be needed to get you the care you need.
Examination
After a thorough consultation in our office with Dr. Schomaker, you will have a complete chiropractic examination. This
will include any necessary testing of your reflexes, your ability to turn and bend as well as
other standard orthopedic, neurologic, postural, and physical examinations. If necessary, the doctor may
have X-rays taken or refer you for additional testing procedures if indicated. These tests and examinations allow Dr. Schomaker to gain valuable information regarding your condition so that he can develop the best possible treatment plan for your specific condition.
X-ray X-ray is sometimes required to get a full evaluation
of a patient. The need for X-ray is considered on a case by case basis. If Dr. Schomaker feels that X-rays are necessary for proper evaluation of your condition, he will refer you to The Center for Diagnostic Imaging ("CDI") where Dr. Schomaker works closely with highly trained medical radiologist in order to aid him in obtaining the most accurate diagnosis for your particular condition. CDI utilizes the latest state of the art equipment available to obtain clear and accurate X-ray imaging. By using this service through CDI, it allows us to take advantage of having specifically trained medical radiologists evaluate your X-rays as well as having Dr. Schomaker's radiologic evaluation. In the end, we have at least two to three sets of highly trained physicians evaluating your X-rays to ensure the accurate and thorough diagnosis of your condition and to avoid anything being missed.
Report of Findings Once all the necessary information has been gathered and examination results have been studied, Dr. Schomaker will sit down with you and discuss your report of findings and tell
you his recommendations for treatment of your specific condition.
Treatment Most of our patients begin to see results from the
very first adjustment although some difficult cases may progress more slowly. Dr. Schomaker utilizes very specific chiropractic adjustments in order to restore the natural biomechanics of your body. All of the spinal adjustments delivered by Dr. Schomaker are tailored to the individual patients needs and condition. We routinely treat infants and children as well (they love us). Dr. Schomaker is trained in many different chiropractic techniques which enables him to effectively treat even the most sensitive of patients effectively and safely. Virtually anyone from infants, highly trained athletes, to seniors can be safely and effectively treated with chiropractic care. We simply tailor the adjustment techniques used to each individual patients condition.
